chair person Nepal WDF

Message from the Chairperson

Dear Friends and Well-Wishers,

Warm greetings from Women Development Forum (WDF), Bajura.

It is with great pride and heartfelt gratitude that I welcome you to our digital platform. Since our inception in 2058 B.S. (2001 A.D.), WDF has grown into a trusted, community-rooted organization that works tirelessly to empower women, children, persons with disabilities, and marginalized communities in one of Nepal’s most remote and resource-challenged districts Bajura. Our journey began with a simple yet powerful vision: to create a society where every individual, regardless of gender, social background, or ability, has equal access to opportunities and a dignified life. Over the last two decades, this vision has transformed into reality for thousands of individuals through our collective efforts in areas such as:

  • Women's empowerment and leadership development
  • Health and nutrition improvement
  • Quality education access
  • Agricultural and income-generating initiatives
  • Water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH)
  • Disaster preparedness and climate resilience

We are proud to have worked hand-in-hand with international and national development partners such as HKI, UN Women, CARE Nepal, Save the Children, and UNICEF, whose continued support has amplified our reach and impact. We are equally thankful to the local and provincial governments, our community-based organizations, and the communities themselves for placing their trust in us and becoming true partners in change. WDF operates with strong values of transparency, accountability, inclusion, and good governance, and these principles guide every project we undertake. Our team, made up of passionate board members, staff, and volunteers, is committed to ensuring that every voice—especially those often unheard—is respected and represented.

As we move forward, we recognize the evolving challenges brought on by poverty, climate change, and inequality. That is why we are more determined than ever to adapt, innovate, and build stronger, more resilient communities. Through digital transformation, youth engagement, and advocacy, we aim to strengthen our interventions and expand our reach. This website is more than just a source of information—it is a window into our work, our stories, our impact, and our dreams. We invite you to explore, connect, collaborate, and contribute to our mission.

Thank you for visiting us and for supporting a future where every woman and every community can thrive.

With warm regards,
Durga Devi Bhatt
